I have dubbed Kate the "Mind Ninja" because she has an incredible way of guiding sessions and at the end I realize that I have been working hard, laughing, learning, and feeling like I have the very best of the best on my team all at the same time.
When I started working with Virtue, my goals were to minimize knee pain and improve overall strength. I work in the healthcare industry and often times we are notorious for putting our personal health on the back burner and just accepting the impact of chronic stress on the body.
My knee pain goes as far back as I can remember and it is one of those things that gets worse at times and then gets a little better at other times, but it is consistently there. I have always loved my mountain sports, running, and biking which inevitably take a toll on the knees.
It was obvious from the start that Kate and Mike carefully considered every step of leading me to my goals. My virtual sessions always left me feeling motivated, supported, confident, and excited for the next week.
Within 6 months of training, and knee pain free for the past 3 months, I had the opportunity to put my body to the test. I visited the Grand Canyon in January and completed a 32km hike where we started at 6800ft elevation, descended down to 2,300ft elevation and then back up to 6800ft all in one day! This test was not originally planned to be so extreme and I thought to myself during the hike, how am I going to explain to Kate and Mike how I've injured my knee again?! After completing the hike, I woke up the next day with zero knee pain and armed with the knowledge I needed to help myself recover from such a big day.
I am so grateful to both of these incredible people not only for what they do on a weekly basis, but also for guiding me to such a positive, empowered outlook on health.”
