Training Philosophy
We believe that training should compliment your life, instead of compete with it.
Training should move you toward your goals in a sustainable way that keeps your body healthy and pain-free.
We know that long-term overall consistency and frequency of training are keys to continued progress.
What we do
Creating comprehensive exercise and wellness plans is what we love to do. We take a holistic approach to our work. We seek to understand the context of each person’s health history so that we can create specific and personalized exercise programs. Personal training is at the heart of Virtue Healthcare. We work one-on-one with our clients, coaching movement and mind-body connection. Whatever your needs are, we can create a program that will help support your goals.

Born in Ottawa, I moved to British Columbia in 2015 to experience the natural wonders of the west coast of Canada. After years of playing competitive sports and learning to love training, I decided to pursue this interest after my undergrad, during which I studied Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo.
I have been a certified personal trainer since 2012 and have worked with a wide range of clientele with varying health and fitness goals. I have gained experience working with college athletes, the adapted community, pre and post surgery clients, pre and post-natal clients, clients with Parkinson’s, and clients of all ages (youngest 14, oldest 93). I developed a newfound appreciation for the rehabilitation process after incurring a complete ACL tear in 2018. I was able to make a full recovery within a year without having to undergo surgery by applying the knowledge I had gained over the years about the body, paired with the diligence to make slow and steady daily progress.
My overall training philosophy is definitely focused on longevity and consistency. I strive to hone my skills to be the most effective coach I can be. I value and prioritize quality of movement and individual training context. I am and will always be a student of human performance and will forever seek further understanding as this field continues to evolve.

I grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan where I spent most of my time playing soccer, skateboarding, and snowboarding. At the age of 13 my family took our first of many trips to Kimberly, BC to ski/snowboard. I knew then that one day I was going to move to a cabin in the woods where I could spend more time in nature and invest more time in the activity I loved the most in the world, snowboarding.
Since 2015 I have been working in healthcare, practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist in a multi-disciplinary healthcare clinic. I have worked with hundreds of wonderful people over the years helping them with everything from health education, injury and surgery rehabilitation, pre and post natal care as well as general postural and structural soft tissue maintenance. Working in healthcare over the last 8 years has been the most amazing learning experience I could have ever hoped for, learning from both my colleagues and my clients.
My overall training philosophy is very much a holistic approach. I have come to see that there is a lot of value in educating people, not just training them. All aspects of health tie into one another, from nutrition to recovery to mindset to biomechanics. All of it is important to improve human performance. I am a lifelong learner and strive to be the best coach I can possibly be.
Now in support of each other we breathe life into our own vision. Virtue Healthcare is our opportunity to share our preventative healthcare vision and philosophy with the world.
